Created To Be His Help Meet Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested: that is, some books are to be read only in parts, others to be read, but not curiously, and some few to be read wholly, and with diligence and attention. Sir Francis Bacon English author, courtier, & philosopher (1561 - 1626) "I have never reviewed such an incredible, life-changing book" Deborah Wuehler, The Old Schoolhouse Magazine Somewhere over the passing years and changing culture women have lost their way. This book is written to lead them back home. Regardless of how you began your marriage or how dark and lonely the path that has brought you to where you are now, I want you to know that it is possible today to have a marriage so good and so fulfilling that it can only be explained as a miracle. In Titus 2 where God commands the aged women to teach the younger women, I have obeyed and given you my very best - 24 chapters, 291 pages, from meal planning to sex, including letters from my readers, recounting counseling sessions, wisdom gleaned from my own daughters, my very own personal experience and, of course, the Word of God (524 Scripture references). Debi Pearl, Author The Pearls worked together on this book to provide sound biblical principles and wise guidance. Our marriage was as good as gold...so I thought. I had no idea the hardship I was inflecting on my husband until I read this book. I repented and took the scriptures at truth for today. Wowzier! What a difference it made. I changed immediately and Ron responded so quickly and sweetly that my heart melts for him. This book is capable of changing any Christian marriage. It has so much wisdom packed in it that I am surprised it is a short as it is. Honestly, this is a book to drink deeply, be savored and absorbed into ones bloodstream of life. There would be many less divorces if women read this and was willing to save their marriages. If the divorce papers are not signed, it's not too late. If they are signed, there is still hope. I would love to see God raise up Christian women being the happy wives and mothers he created us to be. If you read this book, may it bless you as deeply as it has blessed me. May you find freedom in being a Godly wife and mother. May your children, husband, friends, and strangers rise up and call you blessed. And you will be. Dawn Wright, Before The Kiss.com This book has taken on a life of it’s own. It seems to be a catalyst for a new movement of strengthening the marriage. This is one of the most passed around books I have seen in a long time. Women are buying multiple copies to give to their friends as gifts. I am seeing it change many marriages for the better. This book is prefect for a married woman who wants the best for her marriage, and the woman who is not married yet to prepare to have a stronger, happier marriage. Created To Be His Help Meet and The Help Meet's Journey Brand new fresh off the press from Debi Pearl The Help Meet's Journey Wait till you get your hands on this one! The Help Meet's Journey: A Yearly Companion Journal/workbook for Created to be His Help Meet is a beautifully done three ring binder to go along with the powerful book Created to be His Help Meet by Debi Pearl . Created to be His Help Meet is one of my favorite books because of how it changed the way I read the bible, my outlook on my life, and the care I took for my marriage, home and children. I am free to be the woman God created for my husband, unashamed. (Please keep in mind that I am not perfect and I do not have it all figured out. I'm trying, for Christ's sake, but I, like most, need work.) Anyway, The Help Meets Journey is so beautifully done that I am drawn to it and I despise workbooks. It is filled with study pages and diary pages to go along with the chapters. There are pages for your own stories, artwork/doodles, thoughts and pictures to make this a very special journal. The Chapters are short (I love that) and the pages nicely decorated (I like pictures, too). Because of the various aspects of this journal, I think it can appeal to all women for an extra enjoyable journey. It can be used for study groups and personal use. Because it is a three ring binder one can add to it personal pages. So, I have a copy pulled out and set to the side for myself. Me! I am the kind of woman who runs from workbooks and I want one. Dear me! BTW, the three ring binder is the half page binder size. The binder is a nice compact size binder, not one that is big and bulky. Created To Be His Help Meet and The Help Meet's Journey Priest, Prophet, and King We believe God created the family as the primary building block for Christian growth. Within the home, God has ordained the husband as the spiritual leader of the family. We live in a culture that has wandered far from God's plan, and the family, even Christian families, have suffered the consequences. To build strong families, we must equip and train Christian husbands to serve their wife and children following His plan. Priest, Prophet, and King. is written as a culmination of more than one year of research. It presents clear and convincing biblical patterns for a husband's spiritual leadership roles, responsibilities, and duties within the home. There is no pop-psychology here. Every pattern is directly drawn from a plethora of Scriptural references. Although the husband's role has drifted in our culture, God's model for building strong families is unchanging and true. Building a family does not happen by chance, it requires a lifetime of dedication and hard work. Shaping a family, like constructing a house, is not a random process. If we hope to be successful, we must follow a plan. Profusely backed with scripture, Priest, Prophet, and King unveils the Master Architect's original plans for leading and loving your family. This pattern, originally displayed to ancient Israel and perfected in Christ, extends to heads of households today. The Father calls husbands to lead and love their family in the same way as Christ does the Church - by being priest, prophet, and king to their household. If you wish to provide the loving leadership of Christ to your household, Priest, Prophet, and King reveals the attributes, roles, and duties that will bathe your family in the love and covering of Christ. Plastic Spiral Bound, Laminated Cover, 254pages Spiral Bound $11.95 To Train Up a Child Michael & Debi Pearl
As I was growing up, I was rarely spanked or disciplined. My mother never spanked any of us. She yelled and called names. My father would spank with his hand (I have had so many back problems and I can't help but wonder). He also called us names or insulted us. I didn't respect my parents or those in authority. I was wild, foolish and spoiled. My teen years are full of heartache, regret and disappointment. As an adult I had trouble accepting life as it came. I spent time depressed. It is much harder to grow up, on your own, as an adult than with help and guidance, as a child. I didn't want my children to suffer as I did. I wanted them to be successful as adults. I wanted them to be mature, adjusted and wise by the time they left my husbands protection. I was scared. I prayed. To Train Up a Child by Mike and Debi Pearl is a book full of good wisdom and biblical principles. The first time I read it I thought the Pearls harsh, but with my loving touch I could make it work. The book offered good advice on many things. I put some of their teachings to work. Wonderful results followed and I had a happier home and a happier child. Another child later and I had put aside much of what the Pearls taught due to newness and busyness. I sought out their book again (after reading Created to be His Help Meet by Debi Pearl ) and saw it in a different light. I discovered Mike and Debi's humor which I had thought was harshness years ago. It was a totally different read. I viewed a video with Mike speaking and got further insight to his and Debi's humor. He really is a funny man and she a funny lady and I believed they thoroughly loved their children in a godly manner. I don't see them as harsh in child rearing anymore. What a relief! I get comments from friends, family and out in public on a regular basis about how well behaved, happy and friendly my kids are. Don't get me wrong, they are not perfect, almost, but not quite. Ha! That's a mom for you. I still let them get away with too much, but I'm not perfect either. Still working on it. I must add that the Pearl 's view on the King James Version is a little too deep for me. I am not a KJV follower. I enjoy many versions and have to admit, KJV is not high on my list of favorites. To Train Up a Child Holy Sex
If you don't think God meant for sex to be fun, this book is for you. Holy Sex is a book for married couples. Sometimes as I would read the bible I would feel a little embarrassed by how some of the scriptures referred to sex and God and body parts and pleasure. Not to be prudish, but sex was not a beautiful thing as I grew up. The 70's were the time for the free sex revolution and it has only worsened since then. I became a Christian in my mid-twenties. By that time I had been flooded by sex being passionate and dirty...and dirty was fun. After becoming a Christian I went through the phase of what was considered "religious sex" for a Christian couple. Reading Holy Sex I came to the point of realizing the God is also a sexually minded being. Meaning, if God sees Jerusalem as a young virgin maid (bride) and he as a man (bride-groom) (brides and bride-grooms see each other as the one they will make love to after the formalities are out of the way) than it's a normal thing, and sex must be normal. Sex must be not only normal, but good. We all know that in our heads, but do we know that in our hearts. Do we really accept it? Mike and Debi Pearl shed new light on the marriage bed and God's view of his lover. On the other hand, I must add that the Pearl 's view on the King James Version is a little too deep for me. I am not a KJV follower. I enjoy many versions and have to admit, KJV is not high on my list of favorites. Dawn at Before the Kiss Here is a warning taken from the opening of the book. Holy Sex |
